I’m thrilled to be participating in Jen Rizzo’s holiday house walk link party for the third year. This is my favorite post of the entire season. Jen’s house tour began last week and featured over 30 homes with beautiful holiday decor. It is so amazing you need to check it out if you haven’t already. Â I can’t believe you get so much inspiration in one place. Last year my theme was perfectly plaid and I used red, black, buffalo check and plaid patterns to decorate my tree. Â Well I just couldn’t totally give up that plaid because I loved it so much so I decided to do my bedroom in plaid.
I’ve never decorated my bedroom for Christmas before. Â I have always envisioned my room decor being quite soft and romantic similar to the tree I do in all white or the one I did in pinks and golds. Â However, I just loved that plaid so much and got such a great response from it I wanted to throw it in somewhere. Â I thought my room would be a great place since it was out of the way. Â I have a first floor bedroom that is off the main living space. Â It can easily be closed off from the rest of the house. So sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy the tour.
I wanted to put a little tree in my room this year and I’m so glad I did. Â I’m not sure who loved it more me or my husband. Â He wakes up and goes through the house turning on all the Christmas lights. Â It makes the house so cheery when I get up to make the school lunches.
I reused the square boxes and ribbon from last year. Â Everyone in my family knows to save my “pretty” boxes. Â Of course the round boxes are new from Sugar Paper this year. Â I just love everything they make.
This plaid tree skirt is from Pottery Barn and is personalized with our family name.
This year, I really made an effort to take decorations I already had and tried to work them in a different way instead of buying new items. Â Those wreaths on the mirrors were wreaths I used for a wedding reception. Â I used the ribbon from the tree, red flowers, and picks to add a Christmas look.
The buffalo check throw and plaid euro shams are from Pottery Barn. Â The small black buffalo check pillow was from Target last year.
My 7 year old tea cup Maltese is the baby of the family and is completely spoiled rotten.
What a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and read your morning paper.
I started doing this table in gold, white and greenery, but it just needed something more.  When I added my Lenox Christmas salad plates I knew that it needed that hint of red so I kept going.  I added the red polka dot napkins at every other place setting and the red flowers in the centerpiece.  That is just what it needed.
The plates are Eternal by Lenox and the crystal stemware is also by Lenox and has a gold rim.
The polka dot napkins are from Pottery Barn.
I hope you enjoyed the first part of the tour. Â I will be uploading part 2 later this week. Â The color scheme in the next tour is completely different so I hope you like it. I’m done decorating, but shopping is another story. Oh the stress. Â But I need to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas in the first place and try to chill out. Â Thank you for stopping by. Â I would love for you to check out my social media where I post daily inspiration. Â Follow me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
Isaiah 9:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Yours Truly,
Jenn
Simply Amazing
Mark,
Thanks so much for checking out the blog. That means so much to me. I’m so glad you got to see some of my trees. I had the best time doing the one at the office today. It never gets old to me and no two trees ever look the same. Have an amazing holiday and take a little time to enjoy your friends and family.
Best wishes,
Jenn

Jane,
Thanks so much. I changed some of my garlands and trees this year to golds, rose gold, and silver and I just had to throw that red in there somewhere. I’m posting part 2 of my home tour on Thursday and I would love for you to stop back by and see the rest of it!!

Pat,
THANKS!!!! What sweet words from my favorite lady. I enjoyed changing my colors up a little this season, but you know my plaid had to get in there somewhere. I’m really looking forward to what I have in store for the blog in 2017. Stay tuned!
