Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. I always thought of Valentine’s as kind of a made up holiday. My husband and I always agreed that giving flowers, cards, and gifts meant so much more any other day of the year. However, it can be a fun day to show your kids, girlfriends and of course your significant other why they mean so much to you. Plus, you don’t have to spend much money to tell others they mean a lot to you.
My sister and her husband are both turning 40 this month and there are lots of celebrations planned. February is not only important because of their birthdays, but Valentine’s Day is significant to them too. Their first date was a blind date on Valentine’s Day. I find that so neat that it worked out and they are now married with two kids. So, Since so many people are meeting through dating sites and through blind dates, I thought it would be fun to make a list of 10 “get to know you questions” you could ask over the first couple of texts or dates to get to know each other better. Of course you could ask your spouse these as well because they are kind of fun.
Ten Get to Know You Questions
- What are you afraid of?
- What are your pet peeves?
- What is your go to band/fave artists?
- What’s your ideal way to spend a Sunday?
- What movie best describes your life? Why?
- Where’s the most interesting place you’ve been?
- What website do you visit often?
- What are you addicted to?
- What is something you’ve been meaning to do but haven’t?
- If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow what would it be?
I had so much fun decorating my mantel for Valentine’s Day. I ordered the eucalyptus garland from ETSY and all the flowers were from Trader Joe’s. They have very nice flowers for affordable prices (hint…hint…guys).
To make a special family breakfast, you can use your best dishes and make everything shaped like hearts, Plan breakfast in bed for your spouse or a special dinner for two with a beautiful tablescape like the one I styled below.
I hope you can take a little time for yourself on Valentine’s Day and spend time with the people you love most. For more Valentine’s Day posts, check out Valentine’s Day Family Brunch and What is the Nicest Thing Someone Has Done for You?
