I’ve been enjoying all your back to school photos on my social media, but my kids don’t go back to school until the day after Labor Day. We are milking every bit of this summer vacation for all it’s worth. We just got back from a relaxing week long vacation at Hilton Head. We met my husband’s family there and rented a house together for the week. It was such a great way to spend our last summer hurrah. My kids parasailed, paddle boarded, swam, relaxed and ate a ton of amazing food. It was nice to have a relaxing beach week before getting back into schedules, waking up early, and homework. We also got to enjoy some much needed family time before everyone is going in a hundred different directions. This year I’m going to have a senior and a freshmen. This is going to be one CRAZY and EMOTIONAL year for me.
I look at September as my New Year. I like to set goals for myself and organize everything. My favorite thing of all is buying office and school supplies. I just love new supplies. If they’re miniature that’s even better. My office will be the most organized and stocked in September. I am going to have this one last outdoor tablescape for Labor Day weekend and then my posts are going to start shifting to prepare for fall. Since it’s right around the corner, I’m kind of looking forward to sweaters, football, boots, and cozy fires.
My theme for this year’s outdoor furniture was black and white and I accented with pops of color through my accessories such as pillows, umbrellas, tablescapes, and dishes. Having the black and white theme made it easy for me to add any color I wanted to match different holidays or themes.
Whether you have started school or are about to start, I hope you can enjoy your three day weekend with your closest friends and family. Do the things that make you happy and inspire you. If your kids start school on Tuesday, September 6th like mine do, I hope you have an amazing day.
